British film organisation seeking movie fans aged 7-21 for Youth Panel

BBFC Youth Panel

The Youth Panel champions young voices and offers members unique opportunities, including meeting industry professionals and learning about UK film industry careers.

Do you know a film fan aged 7-21?

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is looking for young people who are excited about film, and the opportunity to meet like-minded others from across the UK as part of the BBFC Youth Panel.

They want to hear from young people who love movies, are passionate about youth-focused social issues and enjoy debating and sharing their opinions.

The BBFC Youth Panel hold an important role representing young voices in the film and television industry.  Members will get to watch a range of age-appropriate films and content, provide feedback and their views on film and TV to the BBFC team and attend industry events.

They may attend meetings with the BBFC President and CEO and if happy to, represent the organisation across social media and media platforms, including TV and radio.

There are three age streams now open for applications:

  • BBFC Kids (Ages 7-11)
  • BBFC Teens (Ages 12-15)
  • BBFC Young Adults (Ages 16-21)

BBFC Young Adult members can also expect to meet industry professionals and learn about the different types of jobs that exist in the UK film industry and be offered opportunities to attend BBFC events such as panel discussions and represent the BBFC at events, including film premieres.

For some of the in-person events for reviewing recent releases, the BBFC will even cover travel expenses and basic accommodation for the member and an accompanying adult.

All members will also become ambassadors for the British Boards of Film Classification in their schools and local communities.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying, head on over to the BBFC Youth Panel site where you’ll find all the details including how to submit your application and some tips for applying.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

If you join the panel, let us know!
