Who we are
Film Devon is operated by a team of Devon-based film and television crew, with a shared love of this wonderful, creative industry, and the stunning Devon locations that we are so lucky to be surrounded by.
This includes the picturesque sites that have featured in global blockbuster films such as Harry Potter, beloved TV shows such as Bergerac and Malory Towers, commercials, and music videos – seen and enjoyed by millions around the world.
The Film Devon mission
Our mission is to celebrate, support, promote, develop and grow the Devon film and television industry.
We do this by sharing the latest industry news, promoting productions that film here and helping our network of companies, communities, crew and partners to continue to develop and showcase the county of Devon as a thriving filming location and hub for creative talent.
Many of the Film Devon team have first-hand experience in having to travel far or even relocate to other parts of the UK to be able to work on film and TV productions, so we champion the Devon film and television industry and surrounding locations, in our efforts to help ensure more people that live in the area can have the opportunity for a thriving film and TV career within the region.
Our team and crew network
Our small but experienced team includes Devon-based crew that have worked in the industry for over 25 years, including for productions filming in Devon, and around the world for BBC, Channel 4, Disney, HBO, ITV, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Lucasfilm, Channel 5, Sky Sports and Warner Bros.
We are also fortunate to have experienced industry career and business experts within our team, to help crew and businesses navigate the commercial side of working in this creative industry.
We don’t formally run a crew directory, but our ever-growing Film Devon Crew Network consists of experienced and locally-based producers, production accountants, visual effects artists, camera operators, photographers, location services, editors, tutors, chaperones, prop makers, runners and more – so when a production comes calling for local crew or support, we can put them directly in touch with recommended people for the job.

Supporting the local community
Film Devon are very honoured to work directly with Devon primary and secondary schools to support, help and advise students and young people that are interested in working in the varied roles within film and television.
We also advise Devon locations and attractions on how to make the most of productions filming in their area – from the numerous economic benefits it brings to an area, through to attracting extra visitors to a destination through the business of screen tourism.
