True North Productions returns to film across Devon and Cornwall, capturing the people and communities of the South West
Channel 4 has recommissioned the lifestyle series Devon & Cornwall for a sixth series, with True North Productions returning to film across the region this summer.
The new series will run for five episodes, and continues to follow daily life in the South West from the viewpoint of locals, villagers, farmers, fishermen, shopkeepers and those working across the tourist industry.
Channel 4 described the long-running lifestyle series as a show that offers a warm and authentic portrait of the region, capturing the people, communities and businesses who live and work in one of the UK’s most recognisable and much-loved landscapes.
The recommission is part of a double order for Yorkshire-based True North, which also secured a second series of sister show Yorkshire By The Sea, following coastal communities in North and East Yorkshire.

True North’s Creative Director, Christian Hills, said, “What better way to spend the summer months than filming in Devon and Cornwall”, meeting fantastic characters and exploring fascinating lives along the way. He added that letting people share their stories in their own words, alongside striking visuals, has helped the series set a new benchmark for the genre and deliver a compelling look at life in these regions.
Channel 4’s Commissioning Executive, Jasper Hone, said he was delighted to be returning to the beautiful South West, and Yorkshire’s coastline, with two much-loved series from True North, noting both shows have proved popular with viewers thanks to their warmth, authenticity and the people at the heart of every story.
Both series were commissioned by Hone alongside Jo Street, Channel 4’s Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions and Head of Lifestyle.
Airing dates for the new series are to be confirmed.
