New mysteries await DI Humphrey Goodman and the Shipton Abbott residents in new BBC series, filmed on location in Devon and Cornwall.
Regular viewers of the show will be aware that Beyond Paradise is set in the fictional Devon-town of Shipton Abbott, with the town of Looe in Cornwall being the main location used for filming. As the series has grown, so have the locations, with a number of popular sites across Devon and Cornwall featuring in the latest series, following filming last year.
Series 4 airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from Friday 27 March 2026 and filming took place on the edge of Dartmoor in Buckfastleigh, Mothecombe in South Devon, and in the historic market town of Tavistock.
Buckfastleigh railway station serves as the location for Shipton Abbott station and will feature again in the new series. You can check out a few snaps below from the filming in Devon.



“Fact and folklore blur as they investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea.
DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) launch into married life as they search for a new home, whilst Humphrey wrestles with an impossible decision that may change the lives of everyone at the station forever.”
Beyond Paradise stars Kris Marshall, Sally Bretton, Zahra Ahmadi, Dylan Llewellyn, Barbara Flynn and Felicity Montagu, plus a whole host of guest stars.
